Face/Off moving to Sin City

Sin City LogoWith Face/Off making a temporary stop at Envy, before reaching its new home: Sin City, it seemed like a good excuse to try out Swansea’s Friday rock night once more. I went back to see if I was still too old (yes) and whether I still enjoyed the music (sortof). The main problems were that Envy only has one room; breaking the Face/Off “two rooms” concept of Indie Vs. Metal, and the bar staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, meaning that getting a bottle of beer became a real chore.

Honestly though, I’m really looking forward to Sin City. We’re finally getting a dedicated rock music venue in Swansea. Face/Off’s getting a custom-built home, theres a new Saturday club night to be announced shortly, and plenty of potential for getting more bands down to Swansea.

Personally, for Saturday night, I’d love to see an alternative rock/indie/dance night happening (stuff like David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, The Velvet Underground, Black Sabbath, Morrisey, The Stone Roses, The Clash, Muse, The Strokes, Jane’s Addiction, The Streets, Blur, Faithless, Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, SFA, Daft Punk) but whatever it is, it’ll be nice to have another option for Saturday nights, which currently, for some people is either Monkey Cafe or Monkey Cafe.

I am tiring of the hype of Sin City. Both the movie and the city are pits of despair.

Ah Swansea, the city of despair, you either love it or hate it. Personally I’m a fan, not saying its perfect though.

Looking at their website, http://www.myspace.com/alternativeswansea it looks like Face/Off will be at envy until at least 22nd of December, so maybe the 29th will be the grand opening.
